DAY 1: Arrive at Grootbos
On arrival at Grootbos you'll be shown to your gorgeous luxury suite with views out over the 2500ha pristine wilderness that's wedged between the Overberg and the sea, close to the fishing village of Gansbaai just two hours by car from Cape Town.
One of South Africa's biggest conservation and community success stories, Grootbos is begging to be explored, from its beautiful milkwood forests and rolling hills of rare and endemic Cape fynbos plant species to its rugged coastline and deserted beaches that are perfect for walking.
Offshore, during season (July to November) you'll see southern right whales frolicking in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean which is also home to a wide diversity of iconic marine life from dolphins and orcas to great white sharks and seals. There's so much to see and do during your stay at Grootbos that you'll be spoiled for choice. From walking on the idyllic beach and exploring Klipgat Cave to taking a picnic lunch up in the fynbos overlooking the ocean...

DAY 2: At Grootbos
After a wonderful breakfast the day is yours to do what you would like with. Explore the reserve, go on a guided fynbos tour, enjoy stunning views on horseback, indulge in spa treatments or venture out on to the ocean for a marine safari... Or just sun yourself next to the sparkling pool with a bottle of fine wine cooling next to you!

DAY 3: At Grootbos
Why not get the adrenaline pumping and go on a great white shark cage diving experience today with Grootbos's partners, Marine Dynamics, in nearby Klein Bay? There's nothing to beat the thrill of seeing these majestic apex predators close-up beneath the waves and learning more about their complex behaviour and the challenges facing them.
Alternatively, and in season, you could go out on a whale watching expedition to see the southern right whales that come each year to the waters off this stretch of South Africa's coast to calf. Whale watching season is generally July to November each year.

DAY 4: Time to leave
After a wonderful breakfast it's time to say farewell to magical Grootbos and make your way home or on to your next destination.
